The School of Management at the University of Bradford
is one of Europe 's foremost business schools. Since its establishment
in the 1960s it has achieved a high reputation for management teaching
and research. It is a fully integrated business school, offering
programmes of management education from undergraduate through MBA to
PhD levels, training some 650 undergraduates, 300 postgraduates and
about 1800 practising managers each year.

Financial Times has
ranked Bradford University School of Management as second in the U.K,
equal to Cranfield Business School and only beaten by London Business
School , and ranked eighth in Europe .

The Guardian's
league table of U.K. ranks Undergraduate programme of the School of
Management at number 6. The MBA programme of the School of Management
was rated among the top 100 in the Financial Times 2005 survey. The
School also has the prestigious EQUIS accreditation from the European
Foundation for Management Development for the quality of its teaching.
The latest improvements to the Bradford MBA have been praised by the
Association of MBAs (AMBA) assessment panel, which has recommended that
the programme be fully accredited until 2010.

There are
currently more than 80 academic staff at the School, providing expert
tuition in the full range of management subjects covering areas such as
economics; international business and strategy; finance and accounting;
marketing; operations management; organisational behaviour; management
science; and information systems. Research is given a high priority at
the School, ensuring that teaching is based on the best possible
understanding of management systems and organisations. The staff
produces a large number of books and research articles on management
topics each year. The School's international standing is illustrated by
its cooperative links and exchange agreements with twenty universities
overseas; in America , Australia , Canada , Denmark , France , Holland
, Spain and Sweden .

The School of
Management is based in the Heaton campus, two miles from the city
University campus. The excellent facilities on campus include a
dedicated management library featuring around 35,000 books, 7000 bound
journal volumes, 250 periodicals and online access to journals and
databases. Computer suites give access to the standard office software,
computer based learning material, and the Internet. Other library,
computer and bookshop facilities are also available on the city campus.
Teaching is also
supported by 'Blackboard', a virtual learning environment, cutting edge
visual aids and videos, advanced computer systems, and an extensive
collection of case studies, business games and other management
training materials. Additional resources include a database of all the
School's 2000 completed thesis and dissertations, a collection of
annual reports of the top 1,000 UK companies; and an index to the
special reports which occur in newspapers and weekly periodical

The mission
statement of the School of Management of The University of Bradford
explains the purpose of the school. It says "We aim to pursue our
commitment to international excellence as one of Europe 's leading full
service business schools, with a particular commitment to diversity in
the international composition of our staff and student community and
the geographic spread of our programmes. We seek to enhance the
practice of management world-wide, as well as in the locality and
region, through the international excellence of our learning, teaching
and research. " To fulfill its mission, the School of Management has
developed quality, relevant, up-to-date curricula that are delivered by
enthusiastic staff using a variety of teaching methods with
appropriate, high-quality learning support. The courses not only lead
to the overall development of the student, but also equip them for the
fast-changing world of work.

The School of
Management has developed courses with international orientation. This
orientation gets reflected in the diversity in its faculty staff and
students More than a third of academic staff are from outside Britain
or have non-UK qualifications. In addition, over 30 nations are
represented among the students at Bradford campus. International
faculty and students bring diverse perspectives on current business and
management issues and help to create a stimulating atmosphere for
teaching, learning and research.

Additionally,
The School of Management, University of Bradford , runs an extensive
range of programmes around the world. On overseas programmes there are,
at any one time, about 2,000 students registered for various awards.
The school of Management has activities in the Netherlands and Germany
with NIMBAS, its sister business school in Utrecht , in Dubai with the
airline Emirates and the eTQM College , and in India , Hong Kong and
Singapore .

The School has
developed links with universities around the world for student exchange
and has recently become the founder member of a small alliance of
European EQUISaccredited schools that includes AUDENCIA in Nantes ,
EADA in Barcelona and the Leon Kozminski Academy for Entrepreneurship
and Management in Warsaw . The breadth of the undergraduate courses of
the school of Management opens up a wide choice of careers, from
accountancy to advertising and from recreation management to retailing.
Whatever the choice, students find that the practical orientation of
our courses, and reputation for excellence, that help them to find the
right job for them. The specialist staff and dedicated resources of our
wellequipped careers service, on the main University of Bradford

Bradford School of Management ranked 2nd in UK.
The Financial Times has (Monday 4 December 2006) ranked Bradford
University School of Management as second in the UK , equal to

Professor Arthur Francis, Dean of the School, said: "This is tremendous
recognition for the excellent work at Bradford . The FT ranking is
based on a number of factors, including surveys of our alumni and
monitoring how successful they are after they leave us in terms of
salary increase and seniority of their jobs.
"Our programmes are well known for their mix of top academic teaching
alongside very practical skills. Last year we also introduced personal
development support to help managers make that leap into senior
management with skills ranging from leadership to delegation. Our focus
